GREEN BAY, WI - The Madison Capitols fell to the Green Bay Gamblers, 4-2, at the Resch Center on Saturday night to bring their record in the Wisconsin Cheese Cup series, presented by Odyssey Brands, to 2-3-1-0.

Madison (19-10-1-2) is ranked seventh in the Eastern Conference with 41 points. Green Bay (22-16-3-1) is tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 48 points.

Right wing Brock Caufield netted his seventh goal of the season at 6:18 of the third period to give the Gamblers a 3-1 advantage. Defenseman Michael Bevilacqua picked up the loose puck off a face-off on the left dot. Bevilacqua's point blank shot hit goaltender Dryden McKay's pad and Caufield was on the doorstep to bury the rebound.

Left wing McKade Webster put the Gamblers on the board first with his sixth goal of the season at 5:12 of the first period. Defenseman Ryan Verrier fired a shot from the left point that Webster tipped past McKay for a 1-0 lead for Green Bay.

Defenseman Jared Kucharek tied the game at 1-1 with his fifth goal of the season at 7:45 of the opening frame. Forward Kamil Sadlocha passed the puck from the left wing half-wall to Kucharek at the center point. Kucharek blasted a slap shot that traveled through players and past Maksim Zhukov to tie the game.

The Gamblers took a 2-1 lead at 16:49 of the first period with left wing Robert Herrman's ninth goal of the season. Right wing Danny DiGrande passed the puck to Herrman in the slot. Herrman wristed a shot past McKay for the go-ahead goal.

Green Bay capitalized on a power play at 7:45 of the final period for a 4-1 lead. Bevilacqua carried the puck down the right wing and fired a shot on McKay. The netminder made the pad save before center Josh Dunne flipped the rebound into the net for this 15th goal of the season.

Left wing Mick Messner picked up his 11th goal of the season at 15:53 of the third period to end the scoring. Center Michael Mancinelli fed Messner the puck and the winger carried the puck down the left wing before wristing the puck past Zhukov on his blocker side.

McKay (17-15-1-2) took his 15th loss of the season with 33 saves on 37 shots. Zhukov (20-12-2-1) earned his 20th win of the season as he stopped 23-of-25 shots.

Madison went 2-for-3 on the power play. Green Bay was 1-for-1 with the man advantage.

Notables: The Capitols are on a two-game losing streak...Left wing Mick Messner has three points (1-2=3) in his last four games.
