Aberdeen Wings News Release
On Wednesday night, New Years Eve, the Aberdeen Wings hosted the Brookings Blizzard at the Odde Ice Center. The first 1,000 fans received free party beads courtesy of Schwab Farms (Mina, SD). The crowd came out in force, over 1,550 strong.
Wings goaltender #1 Chad Catt (G-Williamstown, MI) made 27 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Wings edged the Blizzard 1-0. It wasn't until early in the 3rd period that someone finally scored as Wings forward #8 Drew Doyon (F-Indianapolis, IN) lit the lamp for the Wings with assists to #14 Collin Hughes (F-Lino Lakes, MN) and #27 Matt Pulver (F-Chippewa Falls, WI). Blizzard goalie Ryan Kubic played well in the loss, allowing just a single goal on 29 shots.
