Fort Worth Cats News Release
The Fort Worth Cats made a roster move Friday morning, adding infielder Kyle Pearson to the team.
To make room on the roster, the Cats traded catcher Cody Brooks to the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings for a player to be named later.
Brooks saw limited time this season, competing for starts with Brian White and Shelby Ford, who started the year at shortstop but has seen playing time behind the plate this season.
In his eight games and 19 at-bats with the Cats this season, Brooks had two hits and two RBI.
Following the trade, the Cats signed Pearson. He will start Friday's game at first base.
This is the first professional team for the 6-foot 4-inch righty, who graduated from Louisiana State University-Shreveport in May.
