Fort Worth Cats News Release

The San Angelo Colts stifled the Fort Worth Cats' bats on Tuesday night, allowing only two runs on three hits en route to a 4-2 victory.

The Cats (49-30) were hitless through the first three innings before Logan Brumley singled up the middle to cut into the Colts 3-0 lead.

San Angelo (39-40) thought they had extended their lead in the fifth when Braden Embry hit a ball to right-center field that appeared to bounce over the wall for a home run. However, the umpiring crew ruled that the ball bounced in play for a ground rule double. Colts' third base coach Mike Goss was ejected from the game for arguing the call.

Embry was left stranded at second when the next hitter, Ryan Hutson, struck out swinging.

Fort Worth added another run in the bottom of the fifth before the Colts got their fourth run on an RBI single by Jordan Marks.

The Cats go for their 50th win in the last game of the regular season on Wednesday against the Colts.

Tickets to the final game and five-game championship series between the Cats and Edinburg Roadrunners, which begins Thursday at 7:05 p.m., can be purchased by calling (817) 332-CATS or by going online to FWCats.com.
