'Cats Invite Dogs to "Bark in the Park" Night on Wednesday

TROY, NY - On Wednesday night Joseph L. Bruno Stadium will host its annual "Bark in the Park" Night, presented by SEFCU, where fans will be allowed to bring their dogs into the stadium free of charge.

Partners for "Bark in the Park" Night include SEFCU, Purina, Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society, Animal Protective Foundation, Golden Paws Pet Styling Academy, Guilderland Animal Hospital, Pet Spas of America, Bark Busters Home Dog Training, Forever Home Greyhound Adoptions, 4 Paws Animal Hospital PLLC, NYS Office of Children & Family Services and NYS National Association on Mental Illness.

During this event, some of these organizations will have informational booths set up along the con - course. There will also be pet adoptions taking place, as WTEN's Steve Caporizzo will be on-hand rep - resenting The Pet Connection. For one-night only there will be Steve Caporizzo bobbleheads available for purchase with the proceeds going towards the adoption costs.

This night will feature a pre-game demonstration on the field as Freedom Guide Dogs for the Blind will demonstrate guide dog training. Peter Crowley, Assistant Commissioner of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services' Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped, will navigate an ob - stacle course with his guide dog, Fonzie, who was trained at Freedom. Mr. Crowley and Fonzie will also throw out a ceremonial first pitch. During an inning break, Nicole White, Director of Development at Freedom, will introduce the trainers and dogs.
