
Jammers Come Back for a 5-4 Win

JAMESTOWN, NY-The Jamestown Jammers (31-20) broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI double from LF Ryan Fisher in the seventh inning earn a 5-4 win over the Connecticut Tigers (27-25) before 2,083 fans at Diehtrick Park on Tuesday night.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning against Jamestown RHP Rett Varner. CF Ryan Enos (1-3) and LF Chao-Ting Tang (1-5) started the inning with back-to-back singles.
2B Alexander Nunez(1-2) laid down a sacrifice bunt up the third base line that moved both runners into scoring position. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (0-4) grounded out to second base to score Enos and move Tang to third base. C Julio Rodriguez (2-4) hit an RBI single to score Tang and make it 2-0.
The Jammers scored four runs in the fifth inning to take the 4-2 lead. C Wilfredo Gimenez (1-4) led off the inning with a single and DH James Wooster (2-4) struck out. 3B Aury Diaz (2-4) and CF Brent Keys (1-2) followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases.
2B Danny Black (1-4) reached on a fielder's choice. Gimenez scored from third base to cut the Connecticut lead to 2-1.SS Todd Muecklisch (0-1) walked to load the bases and Fisher hit a bases-clearing triple to make it 4-2 Jamestown.
Connecticut quickly started it's comeback with a single run scoring in the sixth inning. Nunez led off the inning with a single and stole second base. Ashenbrenner flew out to center field to move Nunez to third base. Rodriguez reached base on an error and Nunez scored to bring the Tigers within one run at 4-3.
In the seventh inning the Tigers executed a breathtaking double steal. RF Londell Taylor (0-3) was hit by a pitch and went to second base on a sacrifice fly by Enos. Tang grounded out to move Taylor to third base. Nunez walked and the Tigers tried a double steal.
Nunez drew a throw to second base and Taylor scored from third to tie the game at 4-4.
Jamestown went ahead in the seventh inning. Fisher lifted a ground rule double over the right field wall to score Black from second base and make it 5-4.
The Tigers and Jammers next play on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Josue Carreno (3-5, 4.69) starts for Connecticut against RHP Holden Sprague (4-2, 2.82) for Jamestown. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at www.cttigers.com.
