
Cats End Season With 5-2 Victory Over Sea Dogs

The Moncton Wildcats won Round 8 of the Rivalry Cup with a strong 5-2 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Sunday night in front of 5702 fans. The Cats finished the 2009-2010 season with a total of 102 points.
It was fan appreciation night and the teams's 20 year old were saluted in a pre-game ceremony.
The Cats held at 2-1 margin after the first, the middle frame was scoreless and the Wildcats added three in the final 20 minutes while the Sea Dogs were held to a single third period goal.
Mark Barberio had a pair for Moncton with singles added by Daniel Pettersson, Garbriel Bourque scored on a penalty shot and Marek Hrivik was the other Cats scorer. Tomas Jurco got both Saint John goals.
The Wildcats outshot the Sea Dogs 39-23.
The Wildcats will hold their 14th annual Awards Ceremony and Pep Rally on Thursday night at 7 at the Wesleyan Celebration Centre at 7pm. Moncton will begin the first round of the playoffs on Friday night at the Coliseum at 7 pm against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
