Cats Downed By Oceanic 5-4 In Shoot-Out

The Moncton Wildcats and Rimouski Oceanic traded six goals in the first period, then settled down for an exciting final two periods that ended in a shoot out 5-4 win for Rimouski.

Roy got the Oceanic's first goal at 1:40 of the first, then the Wildcats scored a pair, Kabanov at 5:22 and Savard at 7:49 both on the power play. Houde evened the score for Rimouski at 9:33 on the power play. Cormier with his first of the night made it 3-2 Oceanic before Devon MacAusland tied it for the Cats at 10:58.

In the middle frame, Scott Brannon scored for Moncton at 12:18 to give the Cats the lead. In the third, Cormier got his second of the night at 13:57.

Neither team scored in over time. In the shoot-out, Petr Straka scored what proved to be the game winner on Rimouski's third chance.

Shots on goal were 43-42 in favor of Rimouski. On the power-play, the Cats went 3 for 8, the Oceanic 1 for 6.

The three stars were Cormier, the first star, Fournier the second and Scott Brannon of the Cats, the third star.
