Wide eyed kids greet Wildcats:

The students at Shediac Cape Elementary school were very excited as the Saulnier twins of Cape Pele, Alex and Allain visited their school Monday morning. In their rookie year with the Cats, the brothers talked about their excitement in making the team and the thrill of playing in front of many of their home town fans. They encouraged the students to study and work hard in order to reach their dreams. In the question and answer period, the excited students wanted to know about Alex and Allain's hockey heroes and future plans.

In the afternoon a number of Wildcats players, including Brandon Gormley, Kirill Kabanov, David Savard and Mark Barberio visited Magnetic Hill School to see the Art work being prepared by the students for the "Art on Ice program". The students are working together to create unique pieces of art for auction which will be on display at the Coliseum and at downtown businesses starting December 1st.

Charity Bear Night big success:

Wildcats fans waited until Ted Stephens scored at the 3:29 mark of the second period for their opportunity to flood the ice with Teddy Bears and stuffed toys and Friday night. Dozens of volunteers collected the 1389 toys which will now be distributed to various local charities.

Students from Beaverbrook school took donations from fans for bears and collected $630.77 for their school library.

The Wildcats in their sharp red and white training suits were out in full force last night as the Olympic Torch Relay made its way into the new UdeM outdoor stadium. Thousands of area residents converged on the University campus to celebrate the arrival of the torch. The torch made its way to Riverview this morning, continuing its journey across the province, heading west to Vancouver for the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in February.

Rescheduled games announced:

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has announced the new dates for the two Wildcats games that were postponed earlier this month as a result of preventive measures adopted by the Commissioner, Gilles Courteau, following isolated cases of the H1N1 virus. The game between Val-d'Or and the Cats will now be played on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 7 pm. The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies game will now take place on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 7 pm. No date has yet been set for the game between the Wildcats and the Montreal Juniors which was cancelled on November 1st.
