Moncton Wildcats News Release

Bell Centre wows Cats:

Dozens of pictures were taken, the words "awesome" and "wow" was used a hundred times as the Wildcats sat on the bench of the Montreal Canadiens and skated on the Habs home ice Tuesday afternoon. The hour long practice was for most of this year's team, the first time they had been inside the mammoth hockey building in downtown Montreal. With the famous Montreal dressing room behind them, there was almost a reverence as the Cats skated over the famed "CH" at centre ice and occupied the same spot as former and present day NHL stars have done. It was an hour in their young hockey lives to be remembered and cherished.

Fuming Willie working out:

Wildcats Mascot, Wild Willie, is fuming mad over the controversial point he lost at Harbour Station in Saint John last Saturday night. As part of the Rivalry Cup competition, Willie and the Sea Dogs mascot, with the funny name of Fleaburn, took part in an on ice challenge which the biased Sea Dogs claimed their mascot won. Willie says, "not so", according to the rules he was given, he won the event. To make sure he wins the next event fair and square, Willie has been noticed a Nubody's every morning, working out, to be totally prepared to swat Fleaburn in the next round.

Cats play back to back road games:

The Wildcats are in northern Quebec for a pair of games tomorrow and Saturday. They play in Val d'Or tomorrow night at 8 o'clock local time. They move to the Dave Keon Arena in Rouyn-Noranda on Saturday afternoon for the second game which starts at 5 ADT. Both games can be heard on News 91.9 or watch on the Telus website.

Provincial rivals, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan are the opposition, the in the 7pm contest. There'll be an intermission shoot-out and a chance to be a big winner, be sure you have your tickets and you might wheel home a winner.

Wild Wings at next home game:

Look for a new treat at the Wildcats concessions starting with next Tuesday's game. Wild Wings have been added to the already delicious menu. Like 'em mild or hot, they'll be tasty and ready. Great price too, just $5.00 for 6 tasteful morsels.

Pumpkins for Mobile One:

If you want a unique pumpkin this Halloween, then be sure to bid on the player carved Jack-O-Lanterns that will be on display at Tuesday's game against Bathurst. All proceeds from the silent auction will go to Mobile One Food Kitchen.

We're all aware of the great work done by Mobile One, let's all support the creative effort of the players, coaches and staff as the carving creations go to help feed the hungry

Cat of the Day:

Wildcats netminders, Louis Domingue and Wendell Vye has souvenir game pucks to add to their hockey trophy case. All ready in this young season, the pair of puck stoppers have recorded a shutout. The latest came on Friday night at the Civic Centre in Charlottetown when Vye blanked the Rocket 4-0. Congrats guys.
