
'Cats add former Yankee, DePaula starting tonight in Long Beach

Edmonton, AB-The Edmonton Cracker-Cats finally got their man, as Jorge DePaula signed a deal with the Cracker-Cats over the weekend, and will make his very first start for the âCats tonight in the first game of a double header versus the Long Beach Armada.
DePaula, a former New York Yankees, pitched parts of three season for the pin-stripes, posting a ERA average of 4.00 in 27 innings played. He spent the better part of 2007, with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in the Pacific Coast League, where he appeared in 19 games with an 8-6 record. As a member of the Sky Sox, DePaula posted an ERA of 6.41 to go along with 53 strikeouts, in over 99 innings of work.
Tonight in Game #1, DePaula will go up against Garrett Murdy (0-0, 4.22).
Game #2's probably starters will be: EDM-Chris Cullen (3-0, 2.45) vs. LB-Rik Currier (5-4,3.64)
