Columbus Catfish News Release
Columbus, GA - The Columbus Catfish salute local members of the United States Armed Forces with three military nights. Come to Golden Park on June 9, June 23, and July 14, and show your military ID for free admission to the Catfish baseball game.
On June 9 the Catfish will welcome those in Infantry Training at Fort Benning thanks to Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center and God Bless Fort Benning. The Catfish take on the Charleston RiverDogs at 19:00. Be ready for the Soldier Show performed by Miss Georgia contestants. Prior to the game the color guard will present our flag and the infantry band will play the national anthem.
The June 23 event is for families and supporters of our Armed Forces. The game is again free for those with military ID. The Catfish will battle the Savannah Sand Gnats at 19:00. The first 500 fans receive set two of the 2007 Catfish trading cards provided by Sunny 100.
On July 14 Golden Park will once again host those in Infantry Training thanks to Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center and God Bless Fort Benning. The Catfish will face the Rome Braves at 19:00. Prior to the game the color guard will present our flag and the infantry band will play the national anthem. Then the Silver Wings Command Exhibition Parachute Demonstrate Team will fly in with the first pitch baseball.
Catfish players will wear commemorative camouflage jerseys each military night. The jerseys will be auctioned to the public after the July 14 event, with all proceeds going to God Bless Fort Benning.
The Catfish invite everyone in the community to come out and salute members of the United States Armed Forces. We look forward to seeing baseball fans from Fort Benning join us at Golden Park.
