Hickory Crawdads News Release
Hickory, NC-The Hickory Crawdads lost to the Columbus Catfish, 11-5, on Tuesday at L.P. Frans Stadium. Jonel Pacheco went 3-4 with 2 RBI in the loss.
Alex Presley went 2-5 with a pair of singles to raise his batting average to .300 for the season. Hickory led Columbus 3-2 before the Catfish took over with a 5-run 5th inning.
Nevin Ashley, who turned 23 today, went 4-5 with 2 HR's and 4 RBI. Quinn Stewart also went deep for his 21st HR of the season.
Bradley Clapp (5-10) allowed 6 ER in 4.1 IP and suffered the loss. Wilton Noel (5-1) earned the win for Columbus.
The Crawdads conclude their 4 game series at home against Columbus tomorrow night at 7:00. RHP Jared Hughes is scheduled to start for Hickory. All games can be heard live on WMNC 92.1 FM.
