Tri-City Americans News Release
KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 2007-born forward Cash Koch to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. Koch was selected by Tri-City twenty-fourth overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
"It feels incredible to sign with the Americans. Ever since I was young, I grew up watching the WHL and have always wanted to play in this league," said Koch. "The team is really supportive and it's a good group of guys. I know the coaches are going to push me to compete at my best."
The six-foot and 180-pound forward played the 2021-22 season with Edge School U15 Prep. Koch, from Calgary, Alta., posted 44 points in 29 games, scoring 20 goals and 24 assist. He also led his team in penalty minutes with 54. Koch then added two goals and two assists in four playoff games.
"We are excited that Cash and his family have chosen the Americans and the WHL for his hockey development," said Tory. "Cash is a dominant power forward who brings skill, leadership, and grit to our team."
Koch is a long-time friend and teammate of Jackson Smith, Tri-City's second-overall selection in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
"Smitty and I have been best friends and played together since we were five. It's crazy to think we're still playing together after all these years."
The Americans will play their 2022 Home Opener at the Toyota Center on Saturday, October 8 against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Tickets for the 2022-23 season are now on sale. Click here to learn more about season tickets.
