
2022 Training Camp: Day 3 Recap

Regina, Sask. - With just one scrimmage on the docket on Sunday, Team Blue skated away with a 7-5 win over Team Red at the Brandt Centre.
Borya Valis continued his strong play at camp, scoring three goals for Team Blue, while Cole Dubinsky and Jakob Brook each scored twice. For Team Red, Cobe Perlinger and Corban Almen each had a pair of goals in the loss.
Scrimmage: Team Blue 7, Team Red 5
THE GOALS
First Half
Team Blue 1-0 at 3:58 - Borya Valis (1) // Cole Dubinsky stole the puck in the offensive zone, and feathered a pass over a sprawling defenceman to Valis who made no mistake connecting with a one-timer to give Team Blue the opening marker of the scrimmage.
Team Red 1-1 at 9:41 - Corban Almen (1) // Almen grabbed the puck skated around the defender and fired the puck past Kelton Pyne to tie the contest.
Team Blue 2-1 at 11:32 - Borya Valis (2) // Valis carried the puck towards the Team Red net where he was able to direct the puck to the net, which hit a defenceman and deflected past Drew Sim to restore Team Blue's lead.
Second Half
Team Blue 3-1 at 9:26 - Jakob Brook (1) // Brook broke into the offensive zone wide and from the right circle he wired home a wrist shot past Nicolas Rempel.
Team Red 3-2 at 11:33 - Cobe Perlinger (1) // Perlinger was Johnny-on-the-spot after a big turnover and made no mistake to get Team Red back to within one.
Team Blue 4-2 at 11:42 - Jakob Brook (2) // Brook notched his second of the scrimmage after he got in close to the Team Red net and was able to chip it home.
Team Red 4-3 at 14:40 - Corban Almen (2) // After a pair of saves by Sam Fontaine, Almen got control of a loose puck on the doorstep and deposited his second of the game
Team Blue 5-3 at 15:23 - Cole Dubinsky (1) // Team Blue went in on a three-on-none with Dubinsky carrying the puck. He made no mistake and buried the puck to give Team Blue yet another two-goal lead.
Team Blue 6-3 at 19:57 - Borya Valis (3) // Valis received a pass along the left side of the offensive zone, put the shot on goal and it squeaked through Rempel.
Team Blue 7-3 at 20:17 - Cole Dubinsky (2) // Dubinsky kept the puck in at the blueline, before peeling to the net and ripping home a hard wrist shot from the high slot.
Team Red 7-4 at 21:59 - Easton Armstrong (1) // Almen took a shot that Armstrong got a piece of to tip it past Fontaine.
Team Red 7-5 at 24:31 - Cobe Perlinger (2) // Perlinger was awarded a penalty shot and was able to capitalize with a nice shot.
