EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart is scheduled to be hosted by the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball and throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Mariners vs. Texas Rangers game at 7:10 p.m., at Safeco Field on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The game will be televised locally on Root Sports Northwest.

The Mariners have created a special "Silvertips" ticket offer for fans attending that night, available on the view level of Safeco Field for just $15, while main level tickets are available for $31. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the link below and entering the special offer code, "Silvertips" (new visitors can complete their purchase by creating a Seattle Mariners Ticketmaster account, offered within the link).

Hart, 18, is preparing for his third season in a Silvertips uniform after capturing the Vaughn Canadian Hockey League and Western Hockey League Goaltender of the Year (Del Wilson Memorial Trophy) awards last season, followed by his selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round (48th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft as the first netminder picked by any NHL team in June's draft.

He is the first greater Seattle area based goaltender to win the CHL Goaltender of the Year award since 1998-99 (Cody Rudkowsky, Seattle).

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound goaltender was named Silvertips Most Valuable Player last season, earning a WHL best 35 wins and was second in goals against average (2.14), tied for second in shutouts (6), and second in minutes (3,693), en route to a 35-23-1-3 record and First Team All-Star selection in the Western Conference of the WHL. He suited up in the CHL/NHL Prospects Game in Vancouver and last summer earned a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.

Hart skated with teammate and defenseman Noah Juulsen (selected in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft) in the Hockey Canada Summer Showcase for the second straight year, and both were selected among 41 players to join Canada's National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp in Toronto, concluding Aug. 6.

Hart and the Silvertips open their preseason schedule this Friday, Sept. 2 in the annual Holiday Inn Preseason Classic at XFINITY Arena, with a 7:00 p.m. face-off against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Tickets are on sale at everettsilvertips.com/preseason.
