Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today unveiled new home and away jerseys for the 2016-17 Western Hockey League season.
The black jersey, worn at home for the first half of the season then on the road following the holiday break, is highlighted by the club's black mask while the white jersey features the primary Calgary Hitmen logo. Both jerseys incorporate traditional design elements with black, copper, red and white striping on the sleeves and bottom of the uniform, red-outlined lettering and numbering with a red drop shadow. Additional black trim frames the shoulders and crest of the white jersey.
"We believe the new design is an extension of the tradition that has been part of the Hitmen organization since the copper, red and black was adopted in 1998," said Mike Moore, Hitmen General Manager and Vice President of Business Operations. "The primary logo and mask are recognized across the world and now take on a new look by switching the crest on the black and white uniforms. Our players and staff are pumped about the change; I know fans will be too."
Fans will have an opportunity to view the new jerseys on retail display this evening at Max Bell Centre (1001 Barlow Trail SE) when training camp concludes with the annual Calgary Hitmen Intra-Squad game. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. Tickets, priced at $7 for adults and $2 for children, are available at the door with proceeds supporting AJHL's Calgary Canucks.
In addition, the new uniforms are available at all FanAttic locations and online at Flamesport.com.
The new black jersey will make its on-ice debut in the Adrenalin Source For Sports Home Opener on Friday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m., when the Kootenay ICE visit the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Calgary Hitmen season tickets for the 2016-17 campaign are available now at the Scotiabank Saddledome box office or by calling 403-777-4646. Packages include complimentary tickets to the first two Hitmen home playoff games along with game day savings vouchers for concessions, tickets and merchandise.
