Pittsfield, MA - Pittsfield Colonials outfielder Dan Carte set a new Can-Am League record, hitting in his 30th consecutive game while driving in three runs to lead the Colonials to a 10-7 victory over the Sussex Skyhawks at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey on Saturday night.

Carte (2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI) broke the record of 29 consecutive games with a hit, set by Dennis Abreu in 2008, with a two-run double into the left centerfield gap in the fifth inning. Carte went 7-for-10 with four doubles and seven RBIs in the series against Sussex. Second baseman Danny Bomback (2-for-5, 3B, 3 RBI) tripled and also drove in a trio of runs for the Colonials while shortstop Matt Nandin (4-for-4, 2 R, RBI) was perfect at the plate and banged out four singles with an RBI for the winners.

Colonials' starter Kyle Zaleski (5-1) won his third consecutive start and improved his record to a team best five wins and one loss. He dealt six innings, allowing two runs, on six hits, one walk, and six strike-outs. Reliever David Wasylak (1) picked-up the save pitching the final three innings of the game, giving-up five runs on three hits.

Skyhawks' starting pitcher Mike Vicaro (2-1) suffered the loss conceding six runs (five earned) on eight hits over four-plus innings. Reliever Tim Stringer was hit for four runs over three innings of work out of the bullpen.

Sussex first baseman Kris Sanchez (2-for-4, GS, 4 RBI) belted a ninth inning grand slam for the Skyhawks, his fifth homer of the season.

The Colonials will travel to Brockton's Campanelli Stadium and begin a three game series with the Rox on Sunday afternoon at 4:05pm. The two teams will first complete the 6/22 suspended game, which was halted in the ninth inning due to a power failure at Wahconah Park. Brockton held a 13-9 lead at the time of the suspension. Scheduled to pitch in for Pittsfield in the regularly scheduled game is right-hander Miguel Flores (2-3).
