New Jersey 6, Quebec 5 (Game 1 - 7 innings)
New Jersey plated five runs in the top of the fourth inning to extend a 1-0 lead to 6-0, but had to hold off a fierce Quebec rally before landing the 6-5 win. The Capitales scored five runs of their own in the fifth, but that was all they could muster. Jackals 1B Jabe Bergeron led the way offensively, going 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a pair of runs scored. New Jersey SS Mike DeJesus also pitched in with a productive game, going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI. Closer Romas Hicks recorded the final two outs in the seventh to earn his 10th save.
Quebec 4, New Jersey 2 (Game 2 - 7 innings)
After dropping game one, the Capitales rebounded to salvage a split of the doubleheader with New Jersey behind a strong outing from starting pitcher Matthew Rusch. Rusch allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out four in six innings to earn the win and improve to 6-0 on the season. Andrew Albers struck out the side in the seventh on the way to his fourth save. Quebec DH Sebastien Boucher led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. 2B Josh Colafemina and 3B Robert Wagner also had good games offensively. RF Daniel Carte also had a good game, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and three RBI. With his two hits, Carte extended his hitting streak to 30 games, a Can-Am League record. Leading 4-0 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Worcester Tornadoes put the game out of reach with an eight-run onslaught, giving them a 12-0 lead. Worcester 1B Chris Colabello was the star offensively, going 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI. DH Gordon Gronkowski and C Alex Trezza also homered for Worcester and combined to go 5-for-10 with four runs scored and three RBI.
