CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union traveled to Providence Park to face the Portland Timbers on Saturday night, resulting in a 3-1 win. In the 28th minute, the Union opened up the scoring when forward Julian Carranza scored his first league goal of the year. The Union extended their lead with a 58th minute goal from Homegrown midfielder Quinn Sullivan. In the 67th minute, forward Julian Carranza netted his second goal of the night, becoming the fifth player in club history to score 30 goals. Portland scored in the 80th minute with a goal by forward Jonathan Rodriguez. Goalkeeper Oliver Semmle registered five saves, helping the Union secure three points on the road.
The Union return to Subaru Park to host Minnesota United FC on Saturday, March 30 (2:00 p.m. ET / Apple TV).
