Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
Bowling Green, KY - Ryan Carpenter hurled six scoreless innings, but the Bowling Green Hot Rods (6-5, 44-37) fell to the Dayton Dragons (3-8, 33-48) 3-2 on Monday night at Bowling Green Ballpark. Dayton's Sean Buckley struck a two-run, go ahead home run in the top of the eighth inning to even the three-game series at one game apiece.
After the Dragons scored initially on Sunday evening, the Hot Rods struck first on Monday night. With Tyler Goeddel at second base, Ryan Brett lined a double into left-centerfield to drive in the game's first run and his third run on the homestand. Later in the inning with two outs and Brett at third, Cameron Seitzer doubled into right-centerfield to plate Brett to give the Hot Rods a 2-0 lead.
Carpenter left in line for the victory after allowing just four hits in six frames, lowering his home ERA to 0.68. After allowing just six runs in 42 innings so far this season, Jason McEachern allowed the Dragons to score the game's final three runs to take the game. The game's decisive blow was a long, two-run home run off the bat of Sean Buckley in the top of the eighth. Before Monday's game, the Hot Rods were 20-2 at home this season when leading after seven frames.
