Cary, N.C. - The Carolina RailHawks announced today the signing of 2007 USL-1 points leader Dan Antoniuk. Antoniuk led the league in points (23) and assists (9), and was one of two contenders for the 2007 USL MVP Honor.
"We're extremely excited to have Dan Antoniuk join the RailHawks family," said Carolina RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. "He's a proven goal scorer, an intelligent soccer player and will help us tremendously in the upcoming season
A powerful forward, Antoniuk started his outdoor career in 2003 with the Portland Timbers where he spent two successful seasons; in 2005 he scored 13 goals and recorded two assists, finishing fourth in the league for goals and points. He spent the 2006 season with Montreal before going to the USL-1 Championship finalist Atlanta Silverbacks in 2007 where he enjoyed one of the best seasons of his professional career.
Antoniuk attended Wheaton College where he holds the record for career goals (54) and points (144). Dan also held the record for goals in a season with 18 - an accomplishment he recorded twice during his four-year collegiate career.
