March 6, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Atlantic City Surf News Release

Atlantic City, N.J. - Atlantic City Surf president Chris Carminucci has been selected to the Greater Atlantic City Region's "Top 40 Under 40" list for 2008, presented by Atlantic City Weekly and the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees - Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is featured in the March 6-12, 2008 edition of the Atlantic City Weekly newspaper.

With a wealth of experience on and off the field, Carminucci is one of minor-league baseball's top young executives. The native of Westchester County, N.Y., joined the Surf in 2007 as the team's field manager, and led the club to a 51-41 record and a playoff berth. For his efforts, he was named the Can-Am League's Manager of the Year.

For 2008, Carminucci has stepped off the field to concentrate on his role as club president, with the franchise recently experiencing increased fan support, community involvement and sponsorship.

"It's an honor to be named to this list," Carminucci said. "We're making great strides for the upcoming season both on and off the field, and the organization is dedicated to making the Surf a part of the community for years to come."

Carminucci was a four-year starter at LaGrange (Ga.) College, where he played third base and led the team in hitting in both his junior and senior seasons. He then played professionally for the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League and the Bangor Lumberjacks of the Northeast League, and was a player/coach for the Tennessee Walkers of the Big South League.

After his playing career, Carminucci served as an associate scout for the Kansas City Royals from 1999 to 2002. In 1999, he also founded the Pro Performance Baseball and Softball Academy in Rutherford, N.J.

Since 2002, Carminucci has been on the coaching staff of several other baseball clubs, including St. John's University, the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League, the Bangor Lumberjacks, and the St. Joe Blacksnakes of the American Association.
