
Cardinals and Renegades Go Extra Innings

New Jersey Cardinals News Release
This evening at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) lost 4-2 to the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay Devil Rays). With the loss the Cardinals fall to 11-21, and Hudson Valley improves to 18-14. Roberto Batista (2-1) took the loss for the Cardinals. Aleurys Lopez (3-1) picked up the win for Hudson Valley pitching 2.1 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run for the Renegades.
Daylon Monette and Kevin Estrada led of the second inning for the Cardinals with a single each. Following two outs, Andrew Ginther hit an rbi-single to score Monette. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Monette blasted a homerun over the right-field fence to tie the game at 2-2. The Renegades then picked up two unearned runs in the top of the tenth inning. Monette led the Cardinals with two hits and two runs scored on the night. Estrada also had two hits for the Cardinals. The CardinalsMelvin Falu extended his hitting streak to ten games with a single in the eighth inning.
The Cardinals will take on the Renegades tomorrow in Hudson Valley. New Jersey returns home on Saturday, July 26th, at 5:00 PM against Aberdeen Ironbirds. There will be t-shirt giveaway to the first 1,000 fans courtesy of Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services. There also will be a Family Catch after the game will be sponsored by Pepsi Cola.
