
Captains and Carmona Shut Out Intimidators

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
(Eastlake, OH) â Fausto Carmona and Carlos De La Cruz combined to shut out the Intimidators 1-0 Friday night at Eastlake Ballpark in Eastlake, OH.
Carmona (5-1) lasted seven innings and allowed six hits with out issuing a walk to earn his fifth win the season.
Nathan Panther scored the winning run for the Captains (24-12) in the fourth inning on a single up the middle by Matt Knox. Carlos De La Cruz (3) notched his third save retiring all six Intimidators batters he faced.
The loss spoiled a solid outing for Intimidators starter Paulino Reynoso (2-3), who gave the Intimidators six innings holding the Captains to one run on two hits and striking out five.
Kannapolis (17-18) will try to avoid the series sweep Saturday afternoon with the Captains at Eastlake Ballpark beginning at 2:05pm.
