Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - Colorado Mammoth captain Gavin Prout has been named a 2012 NLL All-Star reserve, joining teammates John Grant Jr., Adam Jones, Rory Smith and Chris Levis on the West Division team. The NLL All-Star Game, which will be held on Saturday, February 25 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y., will be Prout's eighth appearance in the mid-season showcase.

"Gavin has been instrumental in our early-season success, and he's been a great leader to our younger players," said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley. "It's no surprise that he's widely thought of as one of the game's truly elite."

Colorado is the league's lone remaining unbeaten team with a 5-0 mark. Prout has 19 assists this season, fourth in the NLL. His 26 points are tied with Jones, a teammate and fellow all-star, for seventh.

Prout, 33, was an all-star in his rookie season in 2002, and then six straight times from 2004-2009. He shares the NLL record for more assists (16) in all-star games, and is fourth in goals (13) and points (29). Prout's 66 loose balls in all-star competition are second all-time to Buffalo Bandits forward John Tavares.

Colorado returns to the floor on Saturday, Feb. 18 in St. Paul, Minn., against the Swarm.

The Mammoth's next home game is Friday, Feb. 24 against the Calgary Roughnecks. Tickets are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Colorado Dick's Sporting Goods retail kiosks, online at TicketHorse.com, or by calling 303.53.HORSE.
