Edmonton Capitals News Release
Chico, CA - The Edmonton Capitals have their hands full with the division-leading Chico Outlaws. The Outlaws have only lost six times so far this season and didn't let the foot off the gas Wednesday night against the Caps. Former Capitals pitcher Kris Honel stymied his old team scattering just four hits through his six and a third innings of work as the Outlaws cruised to an 8 - 2 victory. Alex Chavez was a bright spot at the dish for the Caps finishing 2 for 4 with a run scored. Cliff Brumbaugh's double in the sixth inning drove in both of the Capitals' runs.
Edmonton will try to avoid the series sweep Thursday night before continuing the road trip with stops in St. George, Utah and then back to Alberta for a two game series against the Vipers in Calgary.
The Capitals record sits at .500 with fourteen wins and losses and they've dropped four of five games since the road trip started.
The Capitals will return to Edmonton for an all-Canadian matchup on Canada Day, Thursday July 1st. The Calgary Vipers invade TELUS Field for a 4 for $44 Thursday where families can purchase 4 reserved grandstand tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 Pepsi for just $44. Make sure your First Of July plans include the Capitals game and then stay after for the best seats to watch the City of Edmonton's fireworks show.
