Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - Madison Capitols forward Dmitri Buinitsky received NHL accolades on Tuesday, as he was ranked among the top 210 European skaters by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo on June 24-25.
The Belarusian forward, who began his season playing professionally for Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League, burst on the scene with the Capitols in January and made an immediate impact, scoring six goals and adding ten helpers in 24 games with Madison. He recorded points in 14 of his first 20 games at the USHL level, including a six-game point streak from Feb. 6 through Feb. 20.
Buinitsky looks to become the second Capitols player to be selected in the NHL Draft; goaltender Garrett Metcalf was chosen by the Anaheim Ducks in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
