Capitols Release 2015-16 Promotional Schedule

Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols are pleased to announce their full promotional schedule for the 2015-16 United States Hockey League season.

The team will open its home slate on Friday, Oct. 9 against the Green Bay Gamblers, presented by River Valley Bank. The first 3,000 fans inside the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center will receive magnet schedules, courtesy of DRS Paving.

For a second straight season, the Capitols will host $1 Beer Nights at the Alliant Energy Center on six Friday night occasions (Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Jan. 15, Jan. 22, March 18, April 1). The start time for each game is 7:05 p.m.

The beer garden location in the Veterans Memorial Coliseum will also be moved to the ice level for the 2015-16 season.

The Capitols annual Pucks N' Paws game, presented by Animart, will be double the fun this season. Fans and their dogs will be admitted into the Veterans Memorial Coliseum for two special game nights, on Sunday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, March 13. Each game will have a 4:05 p.m. start time.

The second annual Teddy Bear Toss game will be hosted on Saturday, Dec. 12. Fans will toss stuffed animals onto the ice following the Capitols first goal. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to Toys For Tots.

The Capitols will also welcome back cancer survivors and fighters for Purple N' Pucks on Friday, March 11. A portion of ticket proceeds will once again benefit the American Cancer Society, and the players will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game to benefit ComfyCozys for Chemo.

Additional non-profit nights include the "Bone Bash" to benefit the Arthritis Foundation on Friday, Oct. 30, and the "Ugly Sweater & Turkey Drive" night to benefit the Salvation Army on Friday, Dec. 18.

The Capitols will honor Madison hockey legend Bob Suter with "Be the Miracle" night on Saturday, Jan. 9. The game will feature specialty jerseys to honor the 1980 USA Men's Olympic Gold Medal team, and a replica banner giveaway commemorating Suter's life.

Local police and fire departments will be honored on Saturday, March 19 for a celebration of Hometown Heroes featuring a "Battle of the Badges" hockey game prior to the Capitols taking on Des Moines.

Local area Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will each have a night at the Capitols dedicated to their groups for a second straight season. The Boy Scout night is set for Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. with the Girl Scout night scheduled for Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m.

Sunday afternoon games will feature numerous promotions catered to young fans, including a Superhero/Princess Party day Dec. 6 and DC Eagle's Star Wars Birthday Bash on Jan. 17.
