Madison Capitols News Release

Madison, WI - Just two nights removed from a 5-2 victory against the Black Hawks, the Madison Capitols and Waterloo completed a trade on Monday afternoon involving a pair of goaltenders, with Drew Hotte (Gwynedd, Pa.) joining the Capitols in exchange for Garrett Metcalf.

Hotte, 19, joins the Capitols after playing in 18 games for Waterloo this season in the USHL's Western Conference. He has compiled an 8-8-0 record with one shutout, a 3.12 goals against average, and a save percentage of .889.

Hotte had one of his best performances of the 2015-16 season in Madison against his new team, as he made 30 saves on 31 shots in a 3-1 win on Nov. 25 at the Alliant Energy Center.

Prior to his time with the Black Hawks, Hotte spent time in the North American Hockey League with the Minnesota Magicians before making the leap to the USHL. He was a three-year varsity performer for Milton Academy (Mass.) from 2012-2015.

Metcalf departs the Capitols as the club's all-time leader in victories with 20. The Salt Lake City, Utah native also became the first original Capitol to be chosen in the NHL Draft in June of 2015, as the Anaheim Ducks tagged him with the 179th overall selection in round six.

The Capitols briefly return to Madison on Wednesday, Feb. 10 for a battle with the Muskegon Lumberjacks at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena (2616 Pleasant View Rd, Middleton). This venue change is for Feb. 10 only, and fans with tickets marked for the Alliant Energy Center can use those to enter at Capitol Ice Arena.

General admission tickets for Wednesday's game are $10 apiece, and groups of 10 or more can call (608) 257-CAPS (2277) to reserve $8 group rate tickets (minimum 10 people).
