Lethemon Earns USHL Goaltender of the Week

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - The United States Hockey League ("USHL") announced Monday that John Lethemon of the Chicago Steel has been named CCM/USHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Feb. 7, 2016. Lethemon recorded a career-high 47 saves Friday in Chicago's 3-0 win at Sioux City, picking up his second shutout over the course of four starts.

The Michigan State University commit played in both of Chicago's games over the weekend, including the shutout victory on Friday, as well as the team's 4-3 overtime loss Saturday at Omaha, recording 29 saves.

Lethemon, 19, has appeared in 40 career games over the course of two seasons with the Steel. In 29 games this season, Lethemon has a record of 12-10-3-0, with a 2.81 goals against average and a .907 save percentage. Lethemon, along with fellow Steel goaltender Daniel Vladar, are two of ten USHL goaltenders to register multiple shutouts this season.

The 6-foot-2, 191-pound native of Northville, Mich., is slated to attend Michigan State University starting this fall and play Division I hockey in the Big Ten Conference for Spartans coach Tom Anastos.
