GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Chicago Steel announced Monday that they have acquired defenseman Croix Evingson from the Kenai River Brown Bears (NAHL), while also trading defenseman Charlie Raith to the Sioux Falls Stampede in exchange for forward prospect Ashton Altmann. Evingson will join the Steel's active roster, while Altmann is added to the team's affiliate list.

Evingson, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound defenseman, was recently listed on NHL Central Scouting's Players to Watch list for the 2016 NHL Draft. In 38 games this season with Kenai River, the Anchorage, Alaska native tallied one goal and three assists. Evingson could make his USHL debut Friday vs. Sioux City.

Raith also scored two goals and added one assist in five games at the 2015 Junior Club World Cup in Yekaterinburg, Russia, helping the Steel to a bronze-medal finish.
