Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Capitals couldn't quite pull off the series sweep over Jose Canseco and the Yuma Scorpions on Sunday, as they lost the afternoon affair at TELUS Field 9-6 to snap their three-game winning streak.

The Caps cruised into Sunday's game after beating the Scorpions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and they got off to a great start with a 3-0 lead after two innings, thanks to home runs from left fielder Todd Linden and shortstop Enrique Cruz. But Yuma replied and cut the lead to 3-2 after the third, and the teams traded runs after that, ultimately ending in a 9-6 decision for the visitors.

Canseco, the Scorpions player-manager and former Major League slugger, started in left field and earned a base hit to contribute to his team's victory, though he did fall victim to a pair of strikeouts. Linden finished with three hits, while Cruz scored two runs and drove in a pair. Third baseman Carlos Duncan also had two RBI for the Caps in a losing cause.

With the loss, the Caps dropped to 18-12 on the North American League season and continue their home stretch this week with a five-game series against Maui Na Koa Ikaika starting on Tuesday. Edmonton sits in second in the North Division, while Maui is five games behind them with a 12-15 record.

All five games against Maui start at 7 p.m. and make up the 2011 Canada Day Series presented by Mott's. Caesars are just $3 all series long, and fans can enjoy the best seats in Edmonton to watch the river valley fireworks display at Friday night's game. Tuesday's series opener is another $2 Tuesday, as ice cream, fries, nachos, slushies and pizza are just $2.

The Capitals are the city's most affordable entertainment option in the summer featuring Edmonton's largest patio! Season seats start at less than $9 per seat. Individual game tickets start at $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Capitals Box Office (10233 - 96 Ave) during regular business hours Monday through Friday, at any Ticketmaster location, online at capsbaseball.ca or via phone at 780-414-GOAL (4625).
