PROMOTIONS/EVENTS

Celebrity Dinner:

On Saturday, January 19th the Hurricanes will be holding their 13th Annual Celebrity Dinner featuring special guest Bob McKenzie from TSN! The night will be hosted by Canadian comedian Kevin Stobo. The dinner will take place at the Sandman Signature Lodge, with cocktails beginning at 6:00pm. Tickets including individual tickets ($150.00) or a table of 10 ($1,250.00) for the event can be purchased by calling 403-328-1986.

Online Jersey Auction:

Party Deck:

Final Game of January:

The Hurricanes will play their final home game in the month of January on Friday, January 18th when they welcome the Red Deer Rebels to the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm. The 'Canes won't be back home until February 1st when they welcome Red Deer again. Tickets for Friday's game can be purchased online at www.enmaxcentre.ca, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre or Yates Ticket Centre's.

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Wednesday, January 9th - 3-2 Win vs. Kootenay Ice: The Hurricanes earned a 3-2 win on Wednesday over the Kootenay Ice in the first of two meetings last week. Jake Elmer scored the game-winning goal.

Friday, January 11th - 5-1 Loss vs. Edmonton Oil Kings: The Hurricanes were handed a 5-1 loss Friday by the Oil Kings at home. Adam Hall scored his first WHL goal in the losing cause.

Saturday, January 12th - 3-2 Win vs. Kootenay Ice: The 'Canes earned their second 3-2 win over the Ice in four days on Saturday. Jordy Bellerive scored the game-winning goal in the victory.

Sunday, January 13th - 4-1 Loss at Edmonton Oil Kings: The 'Canes ended a three-in-three weekend with their second loss of the weekend against Edmonton. Jake Elmer scored the lone goal in the loss. www.lethbridgehurricanes.com

THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE

Friday, January 18th - vs. Red Deer Rebels (7:00pm): The Hurricanes welcome the Red Deer Rebels in the first of a home-and-home set this weekend on Friday. The 'Canes are 1-0-0-1 against the Rebels this season through two meetings as they home team has won both games.

Saturday, January 19th - at Red Deer Rebels (7:00pm): The Hurricanes visit the Rebels for the second time this season on Saturday in the back-half of the home-and-home, back-to-back set. The 'Canes were handed a shootout loss in their last visit to the ENMAX Centrium on January 2nd .

NEWS & NOTES

Stood-Pat:

The WHL Trade Deadline came and went last Thursday and the Hurricanes did not make a deadline day deal. The 'Canes stood pat with the roster that they have. The Hurricanes had acquired goaltender Liam Hughes and forward Scott Mahovlich in trades the week prior.

Up From Brandon:

In lieu of not making any trade deadline deals, the Hurricanes have called up affiliate defenseman Rylan Thiessen for the remainder of the season. The 2001-born defenseman from Brandon, MB had been playing with the Brandon Wheat Kings Midget AAA team this season.
