Canaries To Announce Winner Thursday

SIOUX FALLS, SD (April 28, 2009) - The Sioux Falls Canaries will visit Harvey Dunn Elementary School on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. to reveal the winner of the 2009 Midwest Dairy Canaries Kids Artwork Calendar Cover Contest. The Canaries will present the student who designed the art work that will grace the calendar's cover with a check for $250.00.

"We received great artwork from many elementary schools in the Sioux Falls Public School System," said Canaries President John Kuhn. "The artwork from Harvey Dunn Elementary stood out from the pack, as 10 of the 12 calendar months will feature artwork from their students."

The Sioux Falls Canaries will giveaway 2009 Midwest Dairy Canaries Kids Artwork Calendars to the first 500 fans through the gates on Saturday, June 6.

The Canaries open the 2009 American Association Season at the Birdcage with a May 14 game against the St. Paul Saints. The Season Premier will feature a Pre-Game Championship Ring Ceremony and a Post-Game Fireworks Display presented by the Canaries 2009 Season Sponsor, First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard.
