Pelicans to Hold Pre-Season Extravaganza on Friday

The Pensacola Pelicans invite fans of baseball and fun to experience their Pre-Season Extravaganza on Friday May 1. Pelicans individual game tickets go on sale for the first time at the event. From 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pelican Park, participants can enjoy the festivities and meet the 2009 Pelicans. $1 Beer, $1 Hot Dogs, $1 Pepsi, and $1 Pizza are available during the event.

For youngsters, the Pelicans will hold a free baseball clinic for ages 7-12. Registration for the free clinic with the 2009 Pelicans begins at 5 p.m. with the camp running from 5:30-7:00 p.m. All 2009 Kids Club Members can pick up club T-shirts, and new members can sign up for $10.

Fans have the opportunity to pick up season tickets and practice the new 2009 on-field games. The Pelicans will hold tryouts to be Scoop (the Pelicans mascot), sing the national anthem, be the Man in the Stands (on-field public address announcer), public address announcer, and Ushertainer (amusing usher).
