(SIOUX FALLS, SD) – The Sioux Falls Canaries announced today the signing of RHP Corey Dagley, who has spent the last five seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Dagley, a Centralia, IL native, climbed as high as Double-A Reading in 2000 in the Phillies chain. Originally signed as a nondrafted free agent in 1998, Dagley spent 1998 and 1999 in Class-A with Batavia of the New York-Penn League, before earning the promotion to Reading.

After finishing the 2000 campaign by going 4-4 with a 3.59 ERA for Batavia, Dagley spent the 2001 season on the disabled list. The 6'2, 180 pounder returned in 2002, splitting time between Class-A Clearwater and Lakewood before being released by the Phillies following the season.

The Birds kick off the 2003 season on May 23rd in Schaumburg before opening up the home schedule with a May 26th clash against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Great season tickets and mini plans are now on sale and can be ordered by calling (605) 333-0179.
