
Sports Snap Four-Game Losing Streak

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports snapped a four game losing streak Tuesday night with a 6-4 win over the Ft. Worth Cats at Fair Grounds Field.
After the Cats had taken a 1-0 lead in the third, the Sports scored two runs in the fourth inning on RBI singled by Michael Hicks and Jarrett Roenicke to give Shreveport a 2-1 lead.
The Sports added two more runs in the sixth inning as Roenicke drove in his second run of the game on an infield out and Joe Dusan singled home the second run as the Sports led 4-2.
After Ft. Worth scored a run in the seventh, the Sports added their final two runs in the bottom of the seventh when Michael Hicks tripled to left center field. It was Hicks third RBI and third hit of the game.
Shreveport right-hander Robert Averette pitched seven strong innings to pick up his first win of the season. Jason Moody came in to pitch the final two innings to record his first save.
The Sports and Ft. Worth will close out the three-game series Wednesday at 7:05pm at Fair Grounds Field.
