
Canadiens Recall Dumont and Mayer from Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forward Gabriel Dumont and goaltender Robert Mayer have been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs. Both players will be available for Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bulldogs also signed goaltender Scott Darling to an emergency Professional Try-Out contract. Darling will back-up netminder Peter Delmas in tonight's Bulldogs game in Oklahoma City.
Darling, 23, has played 35 games for the Southern Professional Hockey League's Mississippi RiverKings, compiling a 15-17-1 record with a 2.92 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound native of Lemont, Illinois previously played for the University of Maine and the USHL's Indiana Ice.
Dumont, 21, has played 55 games with the Bulldogs this season, recording 22 points (13 goals, 9 assists), 51 penalty minutes and 135 shots on goal. The 5-foot-10, 181-pound centre registered 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists), 79 penalty minutes and 128 shots on goal in 64 games with the 'Dogs as a rookie last season. The native of Ville Degelis, Quebec played four seasons for the QMJHL's Drummondville Voltigeurs, posting a total of 169 points (91 goals, 78 assists) in 180 games.
Mayer, 22, has played in 35 games with Hamilton this season compiling a record of 12-16-1 with a 3.02 GAA and a .906 save percentage. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound goaltender played in 21 games for the Bulldogs last season as a rookie, collecting a record of 9-10-2 while registering a 3.06 GAA and a .890 save percentage. The native of Havirov, Czech Republic played in two seasons for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL and recording a total of 42-35-5 in 89 games.
The Bulldogs take on the Oklahoma City Barons TONIGHT, Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at 8 p.m. ET at Cox Convention Center.
