(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - The combination of a 16-hit assault on Salem-Keizer pitching combined with a two-hitter thrown by a trio of Canadians arms was enough for Vancouver to open a five-game series with a lopsided 11-1 victory on Friday night.

Five different Canadians players had multi-hit performances including 1B Bryan Lizardo who went 4-for-4 with three RBI to improve his average to .310 (9-for-26) over the past ten games. LF McGregory Contreras (2-for-4), RF Griffin Conine (3-for-5, 2RBI), C Brett Wright (2-for-4, HR, 2RBI), and 2B Brandon Polizzi (2-for-4) had at least two hits a win that saw the C's collect a season-high 16 hits.

On the mound, the Canadians were just as dominant as LHP Jordan Barrett went 4 2/3 innings of work striking out eight allowing just a solo home run in the top of the 4th inning to Volcanoes LF Diego Rincones before giving way to North Vancouver standout RHP Will McAffer who went 3 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball striking out three. RHP Justin Watts allowed a hit over his top of the 9th inning striking out two as Vancouver sealed its biggest win of the season, the final, 11-1.

Note: The Canadians have now won three of their past four games and won back-to-back games for the first time in 2018... Vancouver is currently 3-1 (.750) for this eight-game homestand.

With the win, Vancouver improves to 6-9 (.400) while Salem-Keizer falls to 10-5 (.667) with game two of this five-game series set for Saturday, June 30th at 7:05pm with tickets to Vancouver Canadians Baseball available by calling 604.872.5232, online at www.canadiansbaseball.com or by visiting the Nat Bailey Stadium Box Office at 4601 Ontario Street, Vancouver, B.C.
