
Canadians Shutout 6-0 In Spokane; Head Home To Face Tri-City

(Avista Stadium - Spokane, WA) - Indians RHP Ryan Dease (2-0) went seven scoreless innings followed by RHP Sean Chandler who stymied the Canadians offense over the final two frames as Spokane shut out Vancouver 6-0 on Monday night sending the C's to 3-8 (.272) on the young Northwest League season.
Canadians 2B Nick Podkul went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles to bump his average this season to .276 while 3B Sterling Guzman also had a pair of hits in the lopsided loss marking the fourth time this season that Vancouver has been shut out.
Vancouver starter LHP Elio Silva (1-1) absorbed the loss going five innings allowing a season high nine hits with his final pitch of the ballgame soaring over the fence as DH Curtis Terry got him for his fourth home run of the season extending the Indians lead to five as his longball cashed in SS Diosbel Arias who singled to start the bottom of the 6th.
The Canadians now return to Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium to open up an eight-game homestand vs. Tri-City (June 26-28) and Salem-Keizer (June 29 - July 3).
