Canadians Open Second-Half With 4-3 Win At Everett

(Memorial Stadium - Everett, WA) - Canadians RF Griffin Conine hit his 5th home run of the summer while the bullpen went five scoreless innings to pace Vancouver to a 4-3 victory over Everett to open the second half of the season.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the 3rd inning, the Canadians evened things up with back-to-back doubles from 3B Jesus Severino and LF McGregory Contreras. Vancouver grabbed its first lead of the game in the top of the 4th inning when RF Griffin Conine took LHP Orlando Razo out to right field for his 5th home run of the season giving the C's a 2-1 lead.

After the Aquasox regained control of Tuesday's series opener with a two-run bottom of the 4th, Vancouver's offense caught fire in the top of the 7th inning plating a pair of runs that included a sacrifice fly from SS Vinny Capra that scored LF McGregory Contreras (double) giving the Canadians a 4-3 lead.

Starter LHP Elio Silva went four innings for the Canadians allowing three runs before handing the ball to the bullpen where RHP Joey Pulido (2.0IP), LHP Marcus Reyes (2.0IP) and RHP Cobi Johnson (1.0IP) threw five scoreless innings to make the final 4-3 Vancouver. Pulido earned his 1st win of the season, Johnson secured his 5th save.

With the win, Vancouver improves to 1-0 (1.000) on the second-half of the season, and 20-19 (.513) overall while the Aquasox fall to 0-1 (.000) and 20-19 (.513).

Vancouver will send RHP Sean Wymer (2-2, 4.11) to the mound on Wednesday, July 25th at 7:05pm looking for the series victory. The game can be heard live at www.canadiansbaseball.com.
