Vancouver Canadians News Release

(Avista Stadium - Spokane, WA) - For the second straight night Vancouver's offense took center stage in Spokane as the Canadians managed 11 runs off of six Indians pitchers en route to an 11-4 victory on Saturday night.

The C's wasted little time getting into the Spokane bullpen as they chased starter RHP Jose Valdespina with four runs in the top of the 1st inning including an RBI single from CF Dalton Pompey who finished the night 2-for-6 with three runs scored.

Vancouver starter RHP Taylor Cole was efficient over his five innings of work as he scattered three hits while striking out five to pick up his first win of the season.

With Vancouver up by six, the Indians managed four runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when RHP Tucker Donahue struggled giving up all four of the earned runs. The Canadians would answer back in the top of the 8th inning with four runs of their own including an RBI single from RF Nick Baligod that scored CF Dalton Pompey. Baligod would finish the night 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Notes: The Canadians move to 2-0 (1.000) on the season and remain in a share of top spot in the Northwest League's West Division... Vancouver has outscored the Indians 19-5 through the first two games of this five game series... RHP Ben White (0-0) gets the nod for the Canadians on Sunday as first pitch on Sunday is set for 3:30pm from Avista Stadium in Spokane, WA.
