Kyle Ruwe pitched eight scoreless innings and SS Kevin Rios came through in the clutch to lead Sussex past Atlantic City 3-2. Ruwe struck out six, walked none, and allowed just six hits before leaving with a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning. However, closer Matt Petrusek was unable to keep a lid on the Atlantic City offense as he walked two of the first three batters he faced and then allowed a two-RBI single to C William Plaza that tied the game. With two out in the bottom of the ninth Rios capped a 3-for-5 night as he singled home CF Ron Perodin to give the Skyhawks a walkoff win.

Quebec 7, Worcester 3

Quebec regained sole possession of first place with a 7-3 triumph at Worcester. The Capitales trailed 3-1 after five innings but scored three in the sixth and three more in the ninth to win going away. Luis Valdez surrendered just six hits and one earned run to improve to 6-1 on the year. Jason Schutt worked 1 1/3 innings for his sixth save. Offensively for Quebec, 2B Jean-Michel Salvas led the way with four hits, two RBI and three runs scored. C Greg Stevens also had a good night going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

New Jersey 6, Nashua 2

In his first start of the season, New Jersey's Tom Atlee struck out five batters in five innings while allowing just one run to lead the Jackals past Nashua 6-2. New Jersey's offense staked Atlee to an early lead when they used four hits and a base on balls to score four runs in the first inning. Nashua starter German Melendez lasted just 1 1/3 innings and fell to 1-3. For the Jackals it was the top of the order that did the damage all night, led by DH Luke Allen's four hits and three RBI. C Matthew Lauderdale finished 3-for-4 with a RBI and 2B Marcus Sanders repeatedly set the table as he went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and three runs scored.

Brockton 3, Ottawa 2

Brockton pushed across an unearned run in the top of the ninth inning to claim a 3-2 win at Ottawa. Rolando Viera did a nice job for the Rox going five innings and allowing just two runs before turning the game over to the bullpen. Jamie Baker earned the win to improve to 2-3 while Noel Baca suffered the defeat in relief of Orlando Trias who went seven innings for the Rapidz. The middle of the Rox order generated just enough offense for the win as 3B Phillip Cuadrado went 2-for-3 and crossed the plate two times. 1B Francisco Lebron finished 3-for-4 and DH Jason Colson went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Each man had a double in the contest.
