The Worcester Tornadoes pulled out a win in walk-off fashion as they broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI-single off the bat of 3B Mike MacMillan. The Skyhawks' inability to score spoiled a good outing by starting pitcher Vince Davis who allowed one run on five hits and struck out three in eight innings of work and did not factor in the decision. Worcester reliever Shaun McNamara picked up his third win of the season by tossing a scoreless inning of relief. MacMillan led the way at the plate for the Tornadoes. He finished the game 2-for-4, including his game-winning single. C Tom Terrill was also 2-for-4 for Sussex in the losing effort.

Trailing 2-1 after the seventh inning, the Atlantic City Surf tied the game with a run in the eighth and added the go-ahead run in the ninth to improve to 26-14 in the second half. Surf starter Brian Rodaway allowed two runs on 10 hits and struck out four in 7 2/3 innings, but did not factor in the decision. Instead, it was Atlantic City reliever Jamie Tricoglou who picked up the win to improve to 5-1 on the year. Surf closer Matt Pike came on for a scoreless ninth to notch his 22nd save of the season. Surf RF Wil Quintana led the way at the plate. He was 2-for-5 with a solo home run.

New Jersey 9, North Shore 6

The New Jersey Jackals posted seven runs in the ninth inning to erase a 6-2 deficit and shock the Spirit with a win on the road. Jackals DH Sandy Madera was just 1-for-5 in the game, but his one hit was a big one. With one out in the ninth, after an intentional walk to load the bases, Madera hit a grand slam to give the Jackals the lead which they wouldn't relinquish. New Jersey reliever Kyle George picked up his third win of the year after allowing a run in two innings of work. Jackals reliever Tom Atlee picked up his first save with a perfect ninth in which he struck out two.

Quebec 7, Nashua 4

The Quebec Capitales got a good outing from starting pitcher Santos Hernandez to top Nashua and improve to 18-23 in the second half. Hernandez allowed two runs on six hits and struck out five in seven innings of work to improve his mark to 1-0 on the year. Capitales DH Pat Scalabrini led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI. Nashua LF Jermy Acey also had a good game. He was 3-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored. The Pride out-hit the Capitales 9-5 in the contest, but stranded nine base runners.

Brockton 11, New Haven County 4

The Brockton Rox plated 11 runs on 15 hits to easily top New Haven County on the road. Rox starting pitcher Rolando Viera had another solid outing, allowing two runs on six hits and four strikeouts in seven innings of work to improve to 11-5 on the season. Brockton's two through four hitters did the bulk of the damage at the plate. The trio of 2B Alex Nunez, 1B Francisco Lebron and DH John Allen combined to go 8-for-17 with two doubles, seven runs scored and four RBI. Cutters SS Chas Terni was 2-for-2 with a home run to lead the way in the losing effort.
