Nashua 6, New Jersey 4

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Nashua scored three runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of LF Bryan Duplissie, to take a 6-4 lead, the Pride's first of the game. The Nashua pitching staff then allowed just two hits in the next three innings to hold off New Jersey. The Jackals got on the board first, taking advantage of a walk and an error to score three runs in the top of the first inning. Starting Nashua pitcher Akira Okamoto straightened up after a rocky start to pick up his seventh win of the season, allowing four runs, three earned, on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Pride 1B Chris Colabello reached base safely in all four attempts, going 2-for-2 with two walks, a run and an RBI. For the Jackals, 3B Wilton Veras had a game-high three hits with an RBI.

North Shore 9, Grays 2

The Spirit were too much for the Grays Thursday evening, as North Shore handed the Grays a seven-run defeat. The Spirit got a two-run double from SS Josue Lopez to cap off a three-run third inning that gave North Shore a 4-1 lead. Lopez, who went 3-for-5 on the night and plated four runners, later homered in the seventh inning, ending up just a triple shy of the cycle. Starting Spirit pitcher Ryan Bicondoa earned his ninth win of the season, allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits over seven innings with three walks and five strikeouts. For the Grays, 3B Ben Tinius hit a home run in the sixth inning to highlight a 2-for-4 night.

Brockton 9, Sussex 2

Brockton scored at least one run in the third through sixth innings, building an insurmountable 8-1 lead over Sussex. The Skyhawks and Rox traded one-run frames in the eighth to make the final score 9-2 in Brockton's favor. The Skyhawks got on the board first by scoring a run on four hits in the top of the first inning, but Rox DH Francisco LeBron hit his 14th home run of the season in the bottom of the frame to tie the game at 1-1. Starting Rox pitcher John Kelly picked up his seventh win of the season, allowing one run on nine hits in seven innings with a walk and four strikeouts. Rox CF/RF Tony Gonzalez had a game-high two RBI on three hits to lead the way for Brockton.

Atlantic City 6, New Haven County 2

New Haven County got solo home runs in the first and ninth innings from CF Ervin Alcantara and DH Jeremy Pickrel against Atlantic City, but were shut out in the middle seven innings on only three hits, as they lost to the Surf 6-2. Atlantic City trailed 1-0 entering the top of the third inning. But after staring Cutters pitcher Brad Whitworth walked the first two batters of the frame, the Surf got hits from three of their next four batters to score three runs and take the lead for good. Surf LF Ed Montague had a game-high three hits and three RBI with a run in five at bats to lead Atlantic City to its 19th win of the second half. The Surf remain two games back of first-place North Shore.

Worcester 8, Quebec 7 (10 innings)

The Capitales pegged starting Worcester pitcher Alex Pena for seven runs on 12 hits in 4 1/3 innings, but couldn't solve the Tornadoes' bullpen, as Worcester won in walk-off fashion 8-7 in 10 innings. Worcester trailed 7-4 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but took advantage of a Quebec error to score three runs on three hits and tie the game at 7-7. The game remained tied into the bottom of the 10th inning, when Worcester LF Andrew Wishy singled in 1B Yohanny Valera from second base to win the game for the Tornadoes. Worcester relievers Chris Shank and P.J. Bevis combined to pitch the final 5 2/3 innings and shut out the Capitales, while allowing four hits with only one walk and seven strikeouts. Bevis pitched the final three innings and earned his second win of the season.
