New Haven County scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a one run victory over Brockton, 5-4. LF Horace Lawrence and RF Orlando Encarnacion combined for three hits and two RBI to lead the Cutters at the plate. Starting pitcher Courtney Hall picked up the win, allowing just two earned runs while striking out nine over eight innings of work. Closer Andy Weimer was perfect in the ninth to tally his 16th save. For Brockton, 1B Francisco Lebron hit his seventh homerun of the season.

Worcester 4, Sussex 2

Starting pitcher Alex Pena was dominating over eight innings of work, allowing just one run on three hits to help Worcester secure a 4-2 win over Sussex. Pena is now 6-2 on the season. Relief pitcher Jamie Merchant came in the ninth and struck out the final batter of the game to nail down his fifth save of the year. LF Josh Beauregard went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Tornadoes offensively. Sussex 3B Mayke Cabrera was perfect, going 2-for-2 at the plate.

Quebec 5, Nashua 2

Quebec starting pitcher Kevin Beavers allowed just two runs on two hits over six innings to pick up the win and help the Capitales past Nashua 5-2. With the win, Beavers improved to 3-3 on the season. Closer Christian Mendoza continued his excellent season, picking up his 14th save by striking out the side in the ninth. At the plate for Quebec, DH Mathieu Bergeron went 2-for-4 with an RBI. For Nashua, DH Larry Bethea went 1-for-4 and drove in a run.

North Shore 2, New Jersey 1

North Shore managed only three hits in the game, but scored two runs, which was enough to knock off New Jersey 2-1. Starting pitcher Jared Trout was outstanding, allowing just one run over six innings to pick up the win. Closer Kevin Fitzgerald pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his league leading 20th save. C Alex Trezza provided the only extra base hit for the Spirit when he hit his 15th homerun of the season. New Jersey had eight hits in the game, with C Clay Kuklick driving in the lone Jackals run.
