The Brockton Rox were able to hold off a late Sussex rally and emerge with a one-run victory to improve to 16-12 in the second half. The team did so, in large part, because of the efforts of starting pitcher Wayne Lundgren who did not allow a run on just four hits while striking out six in eight innings of work to notch his second win of the season. DH Guye Senjem had a big game at the plate for the Rox, going 3-for-4, including his 14th home run of the year, with a run scored and two runs batted in.

Quebec starting pitcher Gabe Ribas shut out the Jackals through eight innings, allowing just four hits while striking out five, to earn his 9th win of the season. The victory improves the Capitales to 18-11 in the second half. Left-handed reliever Brian Dumesnil pitched a perfect ninth inning to close out New Jersey, who fell to 13-16. Quebec LF Nestor Smith led the Capitales at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. 3B Ryan Lehr was 2-for-5 as well and CF Goefrey Tomlinson chipped in with a double and a pair of RBIs runs driven in, in a 1-for-4 night.

North Shore 2, New Haven County 0

North Shore outlasted New Haven County to remain percentage points ahead of Quebec for first place in the Can-Am League, while the Cutters dropped two games off the pace. Spirit starting pitcher Bryan Morse shutout the New Haven County offense through eight innings, allowing just six hits while striking out seven to improve to 9-4 on the year. Closer Kevin Fitzgerald struck out two of the three hitters he faced in a perfect ninth inning to record his 16th save of the season, the most in the league.

Nashua remained two games out of first place in the Can-Am League after holding on to beat Worcester in extra innings at home. The victory improves the Pride to 15-12 in the second half. Nashua pounded out 13 total hits, led by LF Bryan Duplissie, who was 3-for-4, including his fourth home run of the season, with two runs scored and two runs batted in. 3B Andy Dillard also hit his fourth home run in the game, and drove in three runs in a 1-for-5 effort.
