Brockton 6, New Jersey 2, Game 1

With the game tied 2-2, Brockton scored two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and another in the seventh to defeat New Jersey 6-2 in the first game of the doubleheader. Rox starter John Kelly improved his record to 3-0 by giving up two runs on seven hits in six innings of work. LF Eugene Julien was the only Brockton player to have more than one hit, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. 2B Jason Mihalics went 3-for-3 with a triple and a run scored for the Jackals.

New Jersey 5, Brockton 2, Game 2

New Jersey got a badly-needed victory in the second game of the doubleheader, defeating Brockton 5-2. Jackals RF Jason Belcher was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while SS Guillermo Reyes went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Raul Valdes got the win for New Jersey, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out four, in 5 2/3 innings pitched. Brockton LF Eugene Julien had another solid game in the nightcap, again going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Nashua 8, Quebec 7

Nashua held off a late Quebec charge to upend the Capitales, 8-7. With the game tied at four, the Pride scored one in the fifth and three two-out runs in the sixth on C Tommy Rojas's RBI double and via two Quebec errors. The Capitales mounted a comeback with 1B Mathieu Bergeron's three-run home run in the eighth, but it wouldn't be enough. Four players had two hits for Nashua, including DH Glenn Murray, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored.

New Haven County 9, Worcester 7

New Haven County scored five runs over the final two innings to defeat Worcester 9-7. Down 7-4, the Cutters scored two runs in the eighth innings on an RBI single by SS Chas Terni and an RBI fielder's choice, and added another three in the ninth when DH Thomari Story-Harden hit a two-run double and PR D.J. Bailey scooted home on a wild pitch. Story-Harden finished the evening 3-for-5 with three RBI, while LF Josh Beauregard went 3-for-5 with two triples for the Tornadoes. Worcester was eliminated from first-half contention with the loss.

North Shore 9, Sussex 3

North Shore LF Garret Weir went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored as the Spirit defeated Sussex 9-3 and took over first place by a slim margin. North Shore took a 4-0 lead in the second on Weir's bases-clearing triple, and stayed in front for the rest of the game. Spirit C Alex Trezza went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a two-run home run in the sixth inning; for the Skyhawks, 2B Marcos Agramonte was 2-for-3.
