Worcester 9, Nashua 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

In the first game of a doubleheader, the Tornadoes collected twelve hits and used a five run second inning to easily defeat Nashua 9-1. Tom Cochran gave up just four hits to keep his record perfect as he is now 8-0 on the year. Hideki Nagasaka fell to 5-2 as he allowed 12 hits and nine earned runs in six innings. SS Chuck Jeroloman homered twice and drove in three runs while CF BJ Weed went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a homer, and an RBI.

Nashua 6, Worcester 1 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

In game two, Nashua took control early with two runs in the second inning and four more in the third to earn the split by the final of 6-1. Jason Paul went the distance for the Pride and struck out nine while allowing just one earned run. He improves to 1-1 on the year. CF Vinny Pennell collected three hits and two RBI while C Chris Torres drove in a pair, scored twice, and finished 2-for-4.

Quebec 7, Sussex 2

Quebec captured the first half crown and a postseason birth with a 7-2 victory over Sussex. The bottom of the Quebec batting order had a solid game as the number six through nine hitters finished 5-for-13. The big blow came from RF Alex Nunez who broke a 2-2 tie with a three run homer in the top of the sixth inning. Starting pitcher Luis Valdez gave Quebec a stellar performance as he went eight innings, struck out six, and did not allow an earned run. With the win he improved to 7-1 on the year. Closer Jason Schutt pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning in a non-save situation.

Atlantic City 10, Ottawa 8

Atlantic City used a seven run fourth inning to open a big lead over Ottawa and hung on to defeat the Rapidz 10-8. The Surf got solid production from the top of their lineup as SS Anthony Granato, 2B Brad Thoma, and DH Clyde Williams combined for seven hits, five runs scored, and five RBI. Williams' fourth homer of the year came in the big fourth inning and put the Surf ahead 9-2. Ottawa answered back with four runs in their half of the inning and two more in the seventh inning but Atlantic City's bullpen shut the door as Walker Whitley picked up his fourth save.

New Jersey 7, Brockton 6

New Jersey rallied from a 6-1 deficit with two runs in each of the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to beat Brockton 7-6. CF Zach Smithlin came through with the key hits in the contest as he cut the Brockton lead to 6-5 with a two-RBI double in the seventh inning and added an RBI single to put the Jackals ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning. Three New Jersey relievers combined to throw three shutout innings after starter Aaron Tressler went six innings and allowed four earned runs. Mike Vicaro was the winner and improved to 5-3 on the season. Reliever Jacob Ramos was tagged with the loss for Brockton and his record now stands at 3-2.
